This page describes how Doc Delegate actually handles your information today.

Guest preparation

Before sign-in, your preparation answers are temporarily kept only on this device. They expire after 24 hours and are cleared on a later visit, when you discard them, or when they are transferred into your account. After transfer, only a minimal saved-job reference, account identifier, transfer status, expiry and selected plan remain on this device for checkout recovery. Closing the tab does not delete these stored answers.

What we store

Your account email and sign-in record; your jobs and the facts and answers you give; generated documents and their version history; checklist progress, notes and tasks; files you upload; support messages; and billing state (your plan, document credits, and a Stripe customer ID). Every record is tied to your account and, by database rule, other customers cannot read it. Two limited exceptions: support messages you send can be read by the site operator so they can reply, and the content of the job you are working on is processed by our AI and payment providers as described below.

Uploaded files

Files you upload are stored in a private area under your account, never shared publicly. PDFs and images are transcribed by the AI service so their text can inform your draft; Word and text files are read in your browser. You can correct the extracted text, and deleting your data removes the stored files.

AI processing

To suggest options, ask questions, draft documents and read uploaded files, the details of the job you are working on are sent to an AI model provider through our AI service. Only the current job’s details are sent — your other jobs are not automatically included. Note that anything inside a file you upload to a job (which may include information about other people) is sent as part of that job.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; Doc Delegate never sees or stores them. We keep the minimum needed to run your plan: your Stripe customer ID, plan status, and a ledger of credit purchases and use.

Deleting your data

From the Account page you can delete your documents and data (keeping your sign-in) or delete your whole account, which first cancels any subscription. Deletion removes your jobs, documents, uploaded files, checklists, tasks and support messages. After account deletion we retain only minimal payment records (Stripe identifiers and ledger amounts — no documents or message content) where needed for accounting and tax purposes. See how deletion works.

Backups and availability

We take reasonable care of the service, but we don’t promise uninterrupted availability or independent backup copies. Keep your own copies of important documents — every document can be downloaded as Word, PDF or plain text. When you delete data, it is removed from the live system promptly, but copies in system backups may persist for a limited period until those backups rotate.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your information or show advertising. AI processing is handled by our AI provider under their terms; we don’t make separate promises about how providers retain or use data beyond what those terms state.
